success!

The curtains are fully cut, sewn, and grommeted! Certified fight free! Tomorrow morning as we depart for the wilds, we will ceremoniously hang them for the first time in our MiniVan/MaxiFun as we swat away the jubilant Minnesotan mosquitoes.

And another thing: Tim is making me a love drink, introduced to us by our favorite North Oakians.

Sorry you are having those little irritations over inane situations. It's pretty much human nature and believe me you always choose the one closest to you to beat on. We are having issues with our internet so haven;t been able to comment. Maybe this one will go. I royally screwed up Dad's Fathers Day gift-poo! I love you.

Daniel was laughing so hard when he saw Tim's photo poses that the computer almost fell off his lap. You guys rock!!! can't wait to read more. (p.s. thought of you guys tonight on the way back from our garden - we reaped the first crop - a fistful of lettuce)

Love! Daniel and Kristin

Okay, I want the Love Drink Recipe too! Things are slowing down a bit FINALLY and so I anxiously brought up your blog. LOVE IT! Love how you are both being so transparent with how things are "really going". Don't you dare come back to Michigan yet! (smile) As you know Chris and I traveled west (only with 3 small kids and a dog and motorhome) May through October 2000. The only "path" we followed was we signed up for Habitat for Humanity Caravan builds in different states and we set a time to visit a missionary in Alaska. This gave us a little structure in mapping out our "great adventure". We could cancel or change our mind last minute with any of these commitments, so we still had freedom to change course if needed (which did happen). This worked for us and maybe you will come across a way to give your adventure a litte more structure OR not. I know you have already set boundaries and goals, etc for your adventure so structure just may not ever be a part of it. I look forward to hearing more....keep the updates coming!

Okay, I am doing this "annoymous" because I have not idea what to do with the identity thing. I am obviously not blogger literate.

Tim and Stephanie,

We didn't know you got married last summer! Congratulations!! How special to go back to the honeymoon B&B!

Glad to read that you have curtains for your van now. Hope they're working well. Enjoy the badlands -- beautiful area! Enjoy the rest of your trip too! I look forward to checking the blog again to read more posts.

I have learned a lot about my marriage relationship and have learned how to improve communication in it through reading two books. I would recommend to you and any other couples Love and Respect by Emerson Eggerichs and Men Are Like Waffles, Women Are Like Spaghetti by Bill and Pam Farrell. Both excellent books!

Things are fine in the neighborhood. Oscar has moved on to a better home where he can go indoors when appropriate :). W and C and their kids from across the street have moved into your old apartment. They like it a lot because it's bigger. Our yards are all completely covered with cotton from the cottonwood tree now -- looks kind of like snow!

Well, happy adventuring!
R and C
